Hello Everyone,

Last Wednesday I gotta a brand new part, a new left hip. Yep, I’m an  official member of the “Bionic Club.” I now get to declare my artificial hip at all airports! I have to admit that my husband was right, my pride is bruised more than anything. A new hip, are you kidding me! My years of jogging were supposed to help my overall health, not help with the advancement of osteoarthritis! But here we are.

This experience has been challenging and humbling. For most of my adult life, I have maintained good health, with the exception of a few things. But, nothing quite prepared me for the realization that a body part had worn out. That I am at the age where my body is in the continuous maintenance and replacement stage. I was well aware that it would eventually happen, just not in my lifetime! LOL

With all this said, I am truly grateful, humble, and appreciative for this experience. Forever grateful for the talented health care workers and health insurance that affords me the opportunity to live my best life. Humbled by the fact that, though this has been a rather traumatic event for me, there are others who I take a backseat to (if not the trunk) when it comes to health problems. Finally, beyond appreciative of the family and friends that will always rally in time of need.

So, right now literally one step at a time. In the meantime, I gotta a stack of books that are calling me, a piano that just been tuned, and a new lineup of shows on the GAZZILION channels my hubby has on the television. With these doldrum months, what a perfect time to kick my feet up and relax.

Cheers everyone!
